Thanks for stopping by... Myself along with my Dad aim to create a slice of our favourite railway in the UK, the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway. The place in question is called Rhiw Goch situated between Penrhyndeudraeth and Tan-Y-Bwlch. Rhiw Goch remains the only regularly manned signalbox on the FR away from Harbour Station and has a very loyal band of supporters. In 2006 an appeal was launched, through the FR Society, for funds to replace the life-expired signal box with a building of more traditional appearance. Fundraising went well and work was completed during the closed season of 2006/7.
The overall plan of action is to construct part of the long passing loop at Rhiw Goch with hidden sidings at both ends to simulate through running so an up train will go through and come back down again.
Below are a few images taken at the real Rhiw Goch which this model is based upon.
